Call for Papers

The International Symposium on Language, Society and Emerging Technologies invites researchers, practitioners, educators and postgraduate students to submit abstracts presenting original research across linguistics and language-related disciplines.

The symposium encourages interdisciplinary dialogue across theoretical, applied and computational perspectives while promoting international collaboration.

Presentation Formats

• Individual Paper (20-minute presentation + 10-minute discussion)
• Poster Presentation
• Workshop (60 minutes)
• Panel Discussion (90 minutes)

The presentation format selected during submission indicates your preferred presentation type. Final presentation formats are determined by the Scientific Committee following peer review and programme planning.

Abstract Requirements

Abstracts must:

• be written in English;
• contain 250–400 words;
• clearly state the research question or objective;
• describe the methodology where appropriate;
• summarise the principal findings or expected outcomes;
• explain the contribution to the field;
• include three to five keywords.

References are optional and are not included in the word count.

Originality, Authorship and AI

By submitting an abstract, authors confirm that:

• the submission represents original work;
• all listed authors have made a genuine scholarly contribution;
• all sources have been appropriately acknowledged.

If generative AI or AI-assisted software has been used during the preparation of the abstract, this must be disclosed during the submission process.

Authors remain fully responsible for the originality, accuracy and integrity of the submitted work. AI tools must not be listed as authors.

Review Process

All submissions undergo double-blind peer review conducted by members of the Scientific Committee.

Submissions are evaluated on:

• Originality
• Academic quality
• Methodological rigour
• Relevance to the conference themes
• Clarity of presentation

Important Dates

Submission Policy

Only original work that has not been previously published or presented elsewhere should be submitted.

At least one author of each accepted presentation must register for the conference in order for the presentation to appear in the final programme.
